3.9.2.2.1. Search
The Search button on your toolbar allows you to search the page you are editing for a specific word, phrase, or string of text. To do so, click on the Search button and the Find/Replace dialogue box will open.
1. To find a string of text without replacing it, select the Find tab, and then
- Enter the text you are searching for in the Find what field.
- Select whether you want the search to move down through the document (toward the end) or up through the document (toward the beginning) from your current location.
- Indicate if you wish the search to match the case (search for capital letters) by checking the checkbox.
- Click [Find next] on the bottom left of the dialogue box.
- To exit the search dialogue box, click [Cancel].
2. To find and replace a string of text, select the Replace tab, and then
- Enter the text you are searching for in the Find what field.
- Enter the text you would like to replace it with in the Replace with field.
- Select whether you want the search to move down through the document (toward the end) or up through the document (toward the beginning) from your current location.
- Indicate if you wish the search to match the case (search for capital letters) by checking the checkbox.
- Click the [Find next] button on the bottom left of the dialogue box.
- Click [Replace] to replace one instance if the text, or [Replace all] to replace all instances of the identified text.
- To exit the search dialogue box, click [Cancel].
3.9.2.2.2. Search and Replace
The button to the right of the Search button on your toolbar is a short cut to the Find/Replace function. Clicking this button takes you directly to the the second tab (Replace) in the Find/Replace dialogue box described above.
