3.2.1 Getting Familiar with the Bistro Homepage
The first screen you will see once you have successfully logged in is the Bistro homepage, which contains a number of elements that will be very important to you in managing your site.
You can return to the homepage at any time by clicking on the home icon in the main menu bar at the top of each screen.
The top left area of the homepage, just below the header, contains a welcome message including links for submitting a help request online or through the contact information provided, and links to any modules that are waiting to be installed.
Immediately to the right of your welcome message, is the box called Your Common Tasks. This area will list the tasks you use most often and provide quick links to those areas of Bistro for your convenience.
Directly below the welcome message is your diagnostic centre labeled At-a-Glance Website Health. The four brightly coloured buttons provide a quick summary of your site statistics (page views and visitors) and a count of any errors or alarms that require your attention. Just below this, is a text area which provides rotating quick tips and suggestions for using Bistro.
The Bistro Menu Bar & Menu Legend
Of course, the area of the homepage that you will use most frequently is the menu bar in the top right portion of your screen. It contains a series of icons that comprise the main Bistro Menu. You can also navigate through Bistro by clicking on the icons in the menu legend directly below the main menu bar.
